The Creative Education Foundation’s Creative Problem Solving Institute 2025, also known as CPSI (affectionately pronounced SIP-see), will be held June 22-26 in Buffalo, NY. This year’s theme is STRETCH and we invite you to tailor your workshop to this theme as appropriate.

This proposal form is for Open Breakout Workshops: short, interactive learning sessions on variety of topics. These 90-minute experiential workshops are offered to all CPSI attendees. We are looking for workshops that deepen participants’ understanding and application of the mindsets, skill sets, and tool sets connected to creative thinking and problem solving, innovation, and leading change.

All proposals must be received by January 11, 2025 (5:00 PM EST).

Proposal Information and Guidelines

KEY POINTS

  • All workshops will be presented in-person and last 90 minutes.
  • A separate proposal form must be completed for each proposed workshop.If you would like to submit for multiple sessions, you must submit a form for each session.
  • Workshop proposals with more than one presenter should fill out a single application.
  • Make sure that your workshop is interactive – no lectures or academic papers, please!
  • If you have never presented at CPSI before, we may follow up with you for references and additional information.

WORKSHOP PROPOSAL SELECTIONS ARE BASED ON:

  • Timely, relevant topics – make it sound interesting!
  • Connection to the mindsets, skill sets, and tool sets of Creative Problem Solving.
  • Varied forms of participant engagement – sessions with an experiential component are often the highest rated by our attendees.
  • Balance of topics for key audiences – content for educators, executives, coaches, trainers, consultants, higher education professionals, retired folks, and more.
  • Mix of sessions for both novice and experts in the study of creativity – we want a mix of “intro” level and content for experienced creativity practitioners.
  • Feedback from previous workshops – we do pay attention to what our attendees like and try to serve up more of the same.

PRESENTER EXPECTATIONS

The Creative Problem Solving Institute is proud to foster a community of leaders and learners. CPSI depends on its volunteer presenters to shape and deliver a top-notch creative thinking experience for our attendees.

CPSI presenters will receive a discounted registration fee in recognition and appreciation of all their hard work.

Presenters will agree to:

  • Register at the reduced presenter rate by March 31, 2025.
  • Respond to all CPSI organizer requests for additional presenter or session information.
  • Participate in pre-conference informational sessions (virtual).
  • Attend at least one other workshop during the conference. From formal learning in other workshops to informal opportunities to chat with other attendees, being a conference attendee is part of the value you bring as a presenter.
